In an eagerness to be competitive, electrical panels are often designed using the smallest possible circuit breakers, bus bars, cables etc. thereby generating enormous Watt losses.

Designing a panel in accordance with IEC 60439-1 is not enough as the standard allows temperature rises up to 105 - 120 degrees Centigrade.

In order to reduce carbon emmisions and consequent global warming we as engineers must offer "green panels" rather than cheap panels !

The green panel will also save the end-user money in the long run. The investment in the more expensive green panel could have a pay back period as short as two years.

Elsteel have undertaken power loss analysis and are able to prove watt loss reductions of over 31%.
